Memorial Day 2012
On Memorial Day, May 28, the Interfaith Center offered refreshments to those who had attended the military program at the San Francsico National Cemetery, and then followed with an interfaith prayer service to remember those who had given their lives. Prayers were offered by representatives of Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim traditions. Outside, several organizations offered information to the public about resources for veterans and opportunities to volunteer: Swords to Plowshares, San Francisco County Veteran Service Office, San Francisco Veterans Center, and Iraq Veterans Against War.
